Stephens Ranch Wind Energy Project

Wind Tex Energy started development activity in 2007.  A co-development agreement was made with Mesa Power Group in 2012.  Starwood Energy Group purchased the project in September of 2013.  Financing for the wind farm closed on December 31, 2013.  Construction on the 377.4 MW project started in 2013, and the project is slated to be operational in October of 2014.  It is using GE 1.7 MW turbines.

This project is located in both Borden and Lynn Counties of Texas, approximately 45 miles southeast of Lubbock.  This project will connect to the 345 kV bus at Wind Energy Transmission Texas (WETT) Long Draw Switching Station in Borden County.  The interconnection agreement was signed in March of 2012.
